Active Directory user source in Novell ZENworks
The tutorial explains in 7 steps how to connect AD user sources to a ZCM Server in Novell ZENworks.
NOTE: First of all I want to excuse for the screenshots. They are in German and I don’t have the chance to make English ones these days. I think you can still easily understand it. The words are very similar and you can find the English expressions in the text. Hope it is still useful for you.
1. Step
You have to login to the ZCM control with your web browser and select configuration in the drop down menu on the left side.
2. Step
Below configuration you can find the user sources tab. You can see the already added user sources here.
Select User Sources
3. Step
Set up a new user source.
Just click “New” in the user sources tab. Enter the domain name and the IP-address (picture: create new user source)
4. Step
After you set domain name and IP address, you will be asked for a user account with reading permission. The user account needs reading permissions on the AD tree (e.g. the administrator).
5. Step
In the next step you need to set the authentication method.
6. Step
After you finished setting the authentication method, you have the possibility to select individual OUs from the AD you want to manage via ZCM server.
7. Step
Finish you selection of all relevant OUs and click “Next” – now you have an AD available as a user source on your ZCM server.
