Innovating Migration Manager for Active Directory 8.13
Migration Manager for AD offers improvements for the migration to Exchange 2016. With this upgrae to version 8.13 there is support for OnPremise as well as for the transition to Office 365.

Innovating Migration Manager for Exchange 8.13
The new version finally supports the e-mail migration of Exchange 2016. More precisely the migration of mailboxes, calenders, public folders of former Exchange versions from 2003 onwards to Exchange Server 2016. The crucial innovation is that it guarantees a true coexistence of migrated and non-migrated users.
Even the public folder migration to Exchange 2016 has been updated. The ZeroIMPACT migration shall enable all users to continue to work even during the migration. The coexistence of public folders in the source and target environment contributes additionally.
Moreover the migration manager for Exchange Client Profile Update Utility finally supports Outlook 2016 for the migration to Exchange 2016 too.

Quest Migration Manager → Dell Migration Manager → so what now?
After buying Quest Software in 2012 the migration tools, so-called QMM (Quest Migration Manager), have been integrated into Dell software. Basically everything remaind unchanged, except the name. Dell changed it to Migration Manager (or Dell Migration Manager).
After selling Dell Software to Francisco Partners and Elliott Management many questions remain open. So far we know from a press release that Dell sold the Quest branch including the Migration Manager products to new investors.

Alternative Migration Tools
Microsoft also offers a migration tool called ADMT (Active Directory Migration Tool). This standard application helps you migrating Active Directory objects as well. This is a promising alternative because it saves you license costs as the software is free of charge. But it does however not offer the same functionality as QMM. You should analyze your environment and projet requirements to choose the right tool.
