Migrate ZEN7 to ZCM – Zenworks Migration

Novell Zenworks is a software suite which consists of various packages. If you want to migrate Novell clients into Active Directory you first of all need to update from Zenworks version 7 to version 11 (ZCM). Otherwise a later migration to Microsoft Active Directory won’t be possible without several problems.

A SourcePath, ZCMlogPath and InstallPath are set.

After having started the migration, the client copies the necessary files from SourcePath and puts them in the InstallPath. From there the applications are carried out.

How to migrate Zen7 to ZCM migration briefly explained:

Start ZCM Migration

• Copy Application Files
• SourcePath → InstallPath
• Run before Distribution (An dieser Stelle werden per regedit Änderungen in der Registry vorgenommen)

• Run Application (→ TargetPath)

• Reboot
