How to make shutdown, restart and logoff a tile on Windows 8.1
Even if the usability improved from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 you might want a propper program tile for these functions.
A quick way is to create a Shutdown tile is to use PowerShell.
I am using Windows 8 since a while and I got quite adept at working with the ModernUI.
What I don’t like however, is the way to shut down the computer in Windows 8.
You can speed up your daily work and create some extra tiles for reboot, switch users or shut down the PC.
Since the update of Windows 8 to windows 8.1 you now have a faster access to these option:
- Just right-click the start button and there you go.
- Hit the start button and look at the top right, since the latest updated you can find these tiles next to you login name.
Still, if you would like to get a propper Shutodown tile, you can create it with PowerShell.
I found an article in the Microsoft Script Center describing how to easily add these tiles to the start menu with PowerShell.
