Quest Migration Manager → Dell Migration Manager → so what now?
After buying Quest Software in 2012 the migration tools, so-called QMM (Quest Migration Manager), have been integrated into Dell software. Basically everything remaind unchanged, except the name. Dell changed it to Migration Manager (or Dell Migration Manager).
After selling Dell Software to Francisco Partners and Elliott Management many questions remain open. So far we know from a press release that Dell sold the Quest branch including the Migration Manager products to new investors.

Alternative Migration Tools
Microsoft also offers a migration tool called ADMT (Active Directory Migration Tool). This standard application helps you migrating Active Directory objects as well. This is a promising alternative because it saves you license costs as the software is free of charge. But it does however not offer the same functionality as QMM. You should analyze your environment and projet requirements to choose the right tool.
